Nottingham University Gliding Club
Welcome to all returning members and to any new or potential members. We aim to make our club as friendly and informative as possible, so here you can find out almost anything you need to know about gliding and our club as a whole. There is also a forum (open to all) for general discussion, and a Mailing List (also open to all) to keep up to date with important events/happenings in the club.
If there's anything you'd like to know about or feel you'd like to join the club, then please feel free to email us at info@nugc.net

A Word From The President
Hey everyone and welcome to the NUGC website. I am Claudia and I am your president for the 2009/2010 academic year. This website is here to introduce you to our club and our activities as well as giving you an idea of gliding in general. We also run a very active forum where you will find gliding related announcements and discussions. Anybody is welcome to register for free.
I would like to invite all of you to experience flying a glider through our club. NUGC is one of the biggest and most active university gliding clubs in the UK and we aim to offer anyone the opportunity to try gliding. It doesn't matter whether you are completely new to gliding, very experienced or just wanting to try it out, we can cater for you.
As a club we own two gliders: a two-seater glider, which is mainly used for instructional flights, and a single-seater for more experienced pilots, who have flown solo and are looking to progress further. NUGC also hopes to buy a second single-seater this year to enable more experienced solo-pilots to fly longer flights cross-country. So whatever your abilities are, we can cater for your needs and we are really keen to invite members to experience the fantastic feeling of flying a glider.
If you would like to chat to one of us or if you have a specific query, please feel free to contact me or any of the other committee members, who help run the club. You can also catch us at our weekly social & flying sign-up at 7.30 each Tuesday evening in Mooch, where members are always happy to talk about their experiences. We also plan lots of other fun socials and you can find information about them by contacting our social secretary Matt Lumley (social@nugc.net), or checking our events calendar.
If you would simply like to come flying but can't make it to the flying sign-up on Tuesdays please contact our flying organiser, Michael Wallace (flyingorganiser@nugc.net).
I look forward to meeting you soon at one of our socials or at the airfield!
