Accessibility
Nottingham University Gliding Club wants to create a website that is accessible to everyone, viewable on any platform, with any screen size and using any browser that supports current World Wide Web standards.
This website is built using the latest web standards, as recommended by the W3C. It uses valid semantic XHTML markup with CSS stylesheets for the presentation and design. JavaScript is used to enhance the user experience where appropriate, but the site will function without JavaScript being turned on.
The accessibility guidlelines used to build this site are taken from a combination of the W3Cs own accessibility standards, and the WCAG Samurai group guidlines - who take a more practical look at accessibility than the official guidelines.
As recommended by the WCAG Samurai Group, 'access keys' are not used on this site, because of the inconsistencies in the way browser manufacturers implement them. All modern browsers provide ways to navigate each page with the keyboard, and this website is built to facilitate the use of those built in controls.

At the end of the day, we want to have a website that anyone can use to learn about the club and about gliding, and hopefully find it easy to do so. If you find anything on the site that is difficult or confusing to use, please let the webmaster know so that something can be done about it.
