Hello Everyone

It's been a little while since the club news has been updated, and a lot has happened.

Since the last update we have completed a full restoration of the club's skylark trailer, in time for our annual trip to Portmoak. Our trip to Portmoak was a success with many badge claims being completed, and some excellent flying. Special notes must go to Claudia Krehl for her wave flight to 10,000 feet, Louse Beech for completing her 2 hour flight, and Mark Loach for the completion of a five hour flight. Unfortunately the repairs on our acro weren't completed in time for it to accompany us, but we hired one from Bicester to ensure that our pre-solo members could enjoy cheap flying on the trip.

The acro returned to Cranwell on the 22nd May, after some minor repairs to the port wingtip, which now looks fantastic. The annual was completed on the 31st May, and since then it has been very busy with both solo and pre-solo members enjoying flying in it. Since it's return two weeks ago two badge flights have been achieved in it, Joe Bull got his two hours, and Mark Loach his one hour.

Now that exams are over it is getting towards the time when we hand over to a new committee, to celebrate this we have our handover barbeque. This year it is taking place on Tuesday 15th June, and all members are welcome.

Finally this year we are hosting the inter-unis. This is being held at Bicester from the 7th to the 15th of August and promises to be a fun week of flying and socials, more details can be found here; http://www.interunis.co.uk/about/2010-competition/

With summer now in full swing, the conditions for gliding are likely to be very good, with plentiful thermals for longer flights. For those that haven't yet experienced soaring it a perfect opportunity to give it a try, and I hope to see many of you at the airfield soon.
